About Jaimee

Jaimee Callaghan is an artist and illustrator based in Oxfordshire, whose work is inspired by storytelling, nature, folklore and the wonderfully strange.

Her artwork explores a love of atmosphere and imagination, often combining traditional illustration techniques with a fascination for the darker and more magical side of storytelling. From Shakespearean characters and gothic scenes to whimsical creatures and autumnal landscapes, Jaimee enjoys bringing familiar stories and ideas to life with her own distinctive style.

A lifelong lover of books and illustration, Jaimee rediscovered her passion for art through the picture books she shared with her children. What began as a creative outlet has grown into an ongoing exploration of illustration, storytelling and the joy of creating something by hand.

Alongside her art, Jaimee works as a Mechanical Design Engineer in Oxfordshire. Her engineering background brings a natural attention to detail and precision to her creative work, while her love of traditional illustration keeps it playful, expressive and full of character.

Her work is particularly drawn to the atmospheric, the nostalgic and the slightly spooky — finding beauty in old stories, shadowy landscapes and the things that spark the imagination.
